Cavotec, a manufacturer of connection and electrification solutions for ports, airports, and a wide variety of industrial applications, will open a new innovation centre in the Netherlands at the beginning of 2021.

According to a statement the new centre will focus primarily on the maritime sector and will lead Cavotec’s research and development activities with the aim of increasing efficiency and productivity while cutting emissions through new solutions.The centre will bring together the company’s capabilities within areas such as artificial intelligence, remote connectivity, high power high speed electrical charging, and battery technology.
Mikael Norin, Cavotec CEO, said: “The
interest by our marine customers in finding solutions which increase
productivity and simultaneously offer sustainable operations has increased
drastically.

The centre will also host a support hub for turn-key solutions for Shore Power and MoorMaster?, Cavotec’s automated mooring technology.
